The success of the original Eyeworks format The Italian Dream in home country The Netherlands, aired on pubcaster Ned1 with a series average market share of 21%, has not stayed unnoticed abroad. This Fall the show, created and developed by Eyeworks International, will also air in Belgium on commercial broadcaster VTM. Last Sunday’s final episode in The Netherlands was the clear winner of the time slot with a 22.6% market share, which is above station’s average.
Sander Emmering, Managing Director Eyeworks International: “The first series of 13 episodes in The Netherlands has been a huge success and we are currently seriously talking with the network about a second series. And with the commission in Belgium by VTM the format has now also well taken of abroad. Furthermore, in addition to this agreement we are in advanced talks with major networks in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. I am positive we will succeed soon in taking The Italian Dream into one or more of these territories as well.”
