Spill Group rebrands as Spil Games

News 2 minutes read August 2008

Today, the company reveals a revamped brand, including a new logo, tagline, and brand name and is now known as SPIL GAMES. By dropping both the last “L” and the word “group” from the name, it will reflect the increased focus on its core offerings provided. The company also unveiled a newly redesigned website fully integrated in the new brand style, with updated new content and even a new SPIL GAMES bubble shooter game.

As a worldwide online games company, with more than 75 million unique visitors to its game portals worldwide and its own in‐house studio for development of flash casual games, SPIL GAMES has quickly established a major foothold in the industry. By narrowing its brand identity to focus on its specialization of games, its portfolio and offerings are completely in sync with one another.

The new brand identity involves changes to the recognized SPILL GROUP name and logo that was created in 2001. SPILL has changed to SPIL. SPIL in Dutch is translated to essence or core, relating to exactly what we have evolved to be in the gaming industry. GROUP has been replaced with GAMES to signify our focus on the games industry. The new logo itself combines the original logo structure with new elements that are additional symbols of the evolution of the company itself such as the new ball on the “i” in SPIL, now a fun bouncing ball!

The new brand also signals the direction that the company is headed today and includes a new tagline: “Eager to Play?” This tagline signifies exactly what SPIL GAMES is proud to promise and communicate to its portal visitors. The eagerness to play is not only what drives the visitors, it is also what drives SPIL GAMES as a company.

"We are excited to launch our new company identity. It accurately represents our mission and where the past years have brought us. We look forward to the future with the SPIL GAMES brand that will enable us to further our foothold as the leader in the industry."
