Eyeworks Germany awarded for best European production company at Montreux Comedy Festival

Eyeworks is proud to announce that Eyeworks Germany will be honoured as best Production Company at this year’s Gala of the Montreux Comedy Award to be held at Friday December 7th.

In addition, Eyeworks Germany produced comedy series Die LottoKoenige has been nominated for best sitcom and Switch Reloaded for best sketch show.

The Montreux Comedy Festival is one of the leading television festivals in the world, predominantly focused on the comedy genre. With entries from all over the world in specific fields of comedy like best sitcom, best sketch show, best online comedy, best non-verbal and the most prestigious category- the best Production Company, which Eyeworks has won.

The new turbulent sitcom Die LottoKoenige is based around an ordinary German family, the Koenigs. Their lives are completely turned around as they hit the 12-million-Euro-jackpot in the national lottery. With the help of a professional psychologist, the family tries to handle that new situation. His advice however changes their lives another time: “Be rich – yes! Show it – No!” They soon have to learn: Becoming a multimillionaire was hard to do, but living the life of a multimillionaire without anyone noticing is even harder…
Die LottoKoenige is produced by Eyeworks Germany for WDR and is the German adaptation of the original ORF comedy series The Lottery Winners.

Switch Reloaded has successfully mocked and spoofed the German television program since 2007 and has evolved into a merciless satirical corrective of the German TV landscape. Switch Reloaded is a fast paced satirical sketch comedy which ridicules film and television with precise parodies of numerous different television shows as well as TV, film and political personas, either in front of the green screen or on-location. The show has been produced by Eyeworks Germany for ProSieben since the latest season.

The winners of the Montreux Comedy Awards will be honoured at a gala event on December 07th during the Montreux Comedy Festival.
