Marketing technology company Unruly today announced that it has been chosen by AlwaysOn as one of the OnMedia 50 Companies to Watch in 2014.
Selected from hundreds of technology companies nominated by investors, bankers, journalists, and industry insiders, the list recognizes the game-changing approaches and technologies that are most likely to disrupt existing markets and entrenched players.
“The OnMedia 50 Companies to Watch represents a group of companies on an upward path to success, disrupting the digital media marketplace and sweeping away the establishment,” says Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. “Innovation is heating up, and we predict even more growth and positive disruption coming during the next few years.”
“Unruly is disrupting the traditional advertising industry with its predictive technology and ability to spread social video at speed and scale across the Open Web. Rapid innovation is in our company DNA and the brands and agencies we work with look to us to stay ahead of the curve” said Richard Kosinski, US President, Unruly.
“As more brands want to crack the code on social, the US market has embraced the Unruly’s unique technology and video solution, which can predict the virality of their video and can engage with 1.27 billion people across the Open Web,” said Kosinski. “Hats off to an amazing team of dedicated Unrulies, who bring an infectious spirit to our business every day that helps us meet the rapidly growing demand for video capabilities from our clients.”
With offices across the US in New York, Chicago, LA and San Francisco, the global company continues to hire aggressively as it builds a world-class team to continue its expansion across the Americas.
The Video Advertising tech company, which has distributed successful video ad campaigns for 83% of Ad Age 100 brands, has rapidly increased its presence across the United States, hiring 20 new Unrulies since January 1, 2014.
Former Yahoo! and Quantcast Exec, Richard Kosinski, joined as US President in September 2013 and since then Unruly has innovated its product set to include skippable pre-roll for the Open Web, a mobile-first native In-Feed format and a partnership with Nielsen’s Online Campaign Ratings to guarantee 100% on-target audiences.
Unruly has also benefited from the continuing growth of video ad spend – expected to double between 2014 and 2018 – and the shift towards programmatic advertising, where eMarketer predicts advertisers will spend more than $9 billion by 2017. Former AOL Exec, Ken Suh, joined the team earlier in 2014 as SVP Business Development to lead Unruly’s programmatic offering and ensure the company fulfils its mission to deliver the most awesome social video campaigns on the planet.
Scott Button, Unruly Founder and CEO added, “Richard Kosinski is building a world-class team in the US market and his deep domain expertise around data and RTB have been invaluable as we build out our programmatic targeting capabilities. The US remains the largest digital economy in the world. There is still plenty of headroom and we’re looking forward to continued expansion in the coming months.”
